The owners of Southsea Escape (or "we") are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy, following all legal requirements to do so. We recognise user privacy and data protection as human rights and we have a duty of care to those whose data we handle. We understand that data should only be collected and processed when absolutely necessary. We will never sell, rent or otherwise distribute or make public your personal data.
2. Collection of Personally Identifiable Information
Southsea Escape collects the details provided by you when you make an enquiry or booking via the site at SouthseaEscape.co.uk, complete the check-in form prior to a stay, make a booking via an accommodation site such as Booking.com, Expedia, Vrbo, AirBnB etc. or sign up for any of our Services together with any personally identifiable information we learn about you through your use of the Services. As a minimum requirement the following information will be collected:

Nationality
Contact details (address and email address)
Identity document details (including an image copy)
International guests will be asked to supply in addition to the above:

This information is collected to comply with our legal requirement under The Immigration (Hotel Records) Order 1972 and will be held for a minimum period of 1 year after check out date.
We will not make new use of any personally identifiable information which Southsea Escape has gathered from individuals or users prior to any change in our Privacy Policy without first obtaining the individual or user’s consent for any new uses.
3. Security
The security of your personally identifiable information is a priority to us. While we strive to protect your personally identifiable information, we cannot guarantee the security over the means by which information is transmitted between your computer and our servers, or any information provided to us or to any third party through or in connection with the Southsea Escape sites. You provide all such information at your own risk.
4. How we use the Personally Identifiable Information you provide
Personally identifiable information is collected to comply with our legal requirement under The Immigration (Hotel Records) Order 1972.
We use the personally identifiable information we collect to supply our Services to you and to uphold our Terms & Conditions, including for the recovery of costs associated with a breach of these conditions. We may also use your contact details to communicate with you (including without limitation in the event of a change in ownership of Southsea Escape or its business, our business practices, or our Terms & Conditions or Privacy Policy). Except where you have asked us not to, we may contact you by email, post, text message or telephone.
5. Disclosure of your Personally Identifiable Information
We may also disclose your personally identifiable information in the following instances: (i) if we are required to do so by applicable law or pursuant to a court or similar order; (ii) as deemed necessary, at Southsea Escapes' discretion, to protect the legal rights or the property of Southsea Escape, a member or third party, or to prevent personal injury; and/or (iii) in connection with a sale, merger, assignment, joint venture or other transfer or disposition of a portion or all of the assets or stock of Southsea Escape or its affiliated entities (including, without limitation, in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings). In addition, Southsea Escape reserves the right to allow access to its systems to third parties providing necessary technical services when such access is required in order to provide those services and to provide your personally identifiable information to third parties who provide services on behalf of Southsea Escape, provided that such third parties are bound by Southsea Escape’ Privacy Policy.
6. Other Web Sites
Where we provide links to third party web sites (whether or not they are affiliated with Southsea Escape and even if Southsea Escape branding appears on these sites), such sites are not controlled by us and are not covered by this Privacy Policy. These links are provided for your convenience only. If you access these sites by using the links provided, the operators of these sites may collect information from you which will be used by them in accordance with their privacy policy. Although where possible we endeavour to ensure that the site operators abide by our Privacy Policy, we cannot guarantee that they will and you are advised to check the privacy policy of such third parties before providing information to them.
7. Our third party data processors
Google handle website analytics and also website hosting. All traffic (transferral of files) between this website and your browser is encrypted and delivered over HTTPS. Google are based in the USA and are EU-U.S Privacy Shield compliant. You can read Google's privacy policy here.
Smoobu GmbH handle our bookings engine, diary management and booking related communications. They comply with the legislation set out in section 2.0. You can read Smoobu's privacy policy here.
Stipe handle payments. On our website we offer, among other things, payment via Stripe. If you choose to pay via credit card, the payment details you enter will be transmitted to Stripe. The transmission of your data to Stripe is based on Art. 6 (1) a DSGVO (consent) and Art. 6 (1) b DSGVO (processing for the performance of a contract). You have the option to revoke your consent to data processing at any time. A revocation does not affect the validity of past data processing operations. You can read Stripe's privacy policy here.
8. Unsubscribing, Correction and Deletion of Personally Identifiable Information
If you would like to have your personally identifiable information on our database amended, deleted or to make a complaint, please contact us and we will use commercially reasonable efforts to comply with your request in accordance with the provisions of this Privacy Policy. (We may need to contact you or verify who you are in order to be sure that we are deleting or changing the appropriate information).
